World Water Day 2024:  Today is World Water Day. Water is tomorrow and water is life. The world is facing Water crisis. Due to which life and future of children are in danger. Safe drinking water is very important for health and survival. There are less than three percent fresh water sources in the world and this figure is decreasing. UNICEF also explained the reasons for the water crisis and also the methods and solutions for water conservation. The demand for water is increasing due to the rapid population growth, urbanization, increasing need of water in many sectors including agriculture, industry and energy. But climate change, changing rainfall patterns and weather-related events are further increasing water scarcity. In such a situation, the purpose of celebrating World Water Day is to understand the seriousness of these problems and make efforts to solve them.

 

The theme of Water Day this year is 'Water for Peace'. That is, when we collaborate for water we can create a positive impact, foster harmony, create prosperity and address shared challenges. This World Water Day, we all need to unite for water and use it for peace and lay the foundation for a stable and prosperous future.

Focus on water conservation in India

The main theme of Water Day for India is 'Save Water'. In India, people have to be stressed on the need for water conservation through individual actions. Key messages of the LiFE campaign encourage people to take responsibility for water conservation and tackle climate change.
